So I went out and played another round of golf the other day, with my partner as well as another two-some. The front nine didn’t go as planned. Even though I was hitting fantastic drives, after the first nine holes I was nine strokes behind. I quickly realized that it’s not the first hit that counts. I went from elation to frustration and back again.
On the back nine I recovered by ten strokes and won the match by one. Why? Because I played each new hole like it was the first. New hole, new game. Even if I hadn’t won, the thrill of recovery would have been enough. And it helped that my short game was tip top that day.
Network Marketing is like that. If you don’t give up and you try again by giving it your best and not beating yourself up over the last shot, you get better at it. If you can measure what it was that steered you wrong and correct that, you improve immensely. If you concentrate on the aspects that you’re good at, then you can improve on your weaknesses.
Controlling your emotions is a part of golf that everyone has to learn eventually. Only you can control your body, your allignment and your accuracy and the same goes for your mouth! It’s hard to not let a few choice words fly out when you’ve hit an appalling shot. But when you do, you win the respect of the other players and yourself.
Learning how to build your network marketing business takes time and effort. Play through to the end and you’ll find it the most rewarding experience you’ve ever had.
